    'Equinox' is SJPUC's most awaited event every year. This year we hosted our annual cultural and literary extravaganza EQUINOX 2021 on an online platform; adhering to the COVID19 protocols and yet engaging an audience of over 7500 viewers and over 500 participants. Equinox 2021 was set on the theme, 'World of Equity', understanding the diversity in mankind and providing equal opportunity for a world that transcends differences. For the first time in the history of SJPUC, Equinox was open to colleges across India and received overwhelming participation. On 26 February 2021, we welcomed the Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ, Principal of SJBHS, our sister institution for the Inaugural ceremony. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Melvin Lobo SJ, the Vice Principal, Mrs. Renuka Zechariah, Campus Minister and Animator of Student Activities, Rev. Fr. Kishore Bennis SJ attended the ceremony. The programme began with an inter-religious prayer session, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Rev Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ, then went on to address the gathering and online viewers.The wait for the most anticipated event of the year was finally over with the fest being formally declared open during the ceremony. Mr. Shine Shetty, anchor and actor from the Kannada television industry and winner of the domestic reality show, Big Boss Season 7 made a brief appearance on the campus and shared his thoughts on facing life's challenges with courage. Equinox 21' boasted a list of performance events like Dance Mania, Mime and Battle of the band, classic events like Personality, JAM, and Mad Ads, and academically inclined events like Alpha Gaffer, Eco-Lution, and Eleven-Nine. The main stage events were streamed live on our YouTube channel. . Equinox also had 2 exclusively offline events - Clash of Councils and Futsal. Student Councils from 5 of the most reputed colleges in Bangalore, showed their mettle in the Clash of Councils. Futsal, a 3 member team, football event that started its journey at Equinox 2019, saw participation from a fixed number of 24 men's teams and 8 women's teams. The Valedictory ceremony on Day 2 marked the grand culmination of the mega cultural fest. This year, for the third time in a row, SJPUC won the overall Championship, with St. Claret PU College coming in on a close second. As tradition dictates, the Overall Championship Trophy was handed to the Runners up. The success of Equinox 2021 will remain etched in the annals of SJPUC's history as a reminder that Faith and Toil always triumphs.
