Feast of St Joseph

The Feast of St Joseph, the Patron Saint of our institution is observed on 19 March every year. This year's celebration was especially significant as the year 2021 marks the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph's patronage of the Universal Church and has been proclaimed 'The Year of St Joseph' by Pope Francis. The staff of St. Joseph's Boys' High School animated the Eucharistic celebration on the occasion at 8. 30 am in the chapel. It was attended by several staff members of our sister institutions. The main celebrant Rev Fr. Adrian Mascarenhas SJ enlightened the congregation on the virtues of the Saint and the history of St. Joseph's Institutions. Refreshments were served after Holy mass. A prayer session curated by the staff of Sjpuc was held at 1 pm on the college campus to honour the extraordinary life of St. Joseph and seek his intercession for our petitions. The gathering also meditated on a devotional hymn composed by Ms. Monica Dsouza, Receptionist, SJPUC, and rendered by Mrs. Maria Thendral, Dept of Biology and Rev Fr Leo SJ in praise of St Joseph. The staff partook in a sumptuous fellowship meal after the prayer.
