Session on Cyber Crime

The HRD committee in collaboration with the Social Concern Team organized a session on cyber security on 4 July 2025. The session was led by resource person Mr. Manjesh Shetty from Data Security Council of India, CCITR CID HQ. Mr. Manjesh enlightened the second puc students on cybercrime and how to protect themselves from falling prey to fraudsters and the implication of such crimes on our society.
The key points discussed were - investment frauds, the IT act of 2000, the risk of using unauthorized applications on the appstore, the importance of OTP for financial transactions, how fraudsters can infiltrate into our lives through social media platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram, the consequences of accessing unauthorized websites, applications and links. He also enlightened us on how to report cyber frauds, by dialing the numbers - 112 or 1930, or by accessing the website http://cybercrime.gov.in Overall it was an enriching experience.
