A field visit to the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru, was organized by the Department of Physics on the 8 and 9 of July 2025. A total of 120 students, accompanied by six faculty members, participated in this educational visit. The primary aim was to provide students with practical exposure to India's advancements in space research and technology. A senior scientist from URSC delivered an informative presentation on the current research projects and mission planning strategies. This session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round followed by the screening of a short documentary on the making of Chandrayaan-3 mission. Students were then taken on a guided tour of the Exhibition Hall, which featured detailed models of India's launch vehicles such as PSLV and GSLV, along with visual displays of landmark missions including Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan. The tour also included a visit to the clean room observation area, where students learned about the critical role these controlled environments play in the assembly and testing of satellites. They were introduced to the protocols and maintenance requirements necessary to ensure dust-free conditions, which are vital for mission success.
